Town of Meteor - Sawyer County - Meteor, Wisconsin
The Town of Meteor is rural community situated in southern Sawyer County in northern Wisconsin. We have a population of approximately 150 residents. We are a community of 36 square miles (1 township) of land with agriculture, woods land, lake, river, and streams. We enjoy a large variety of wildlife through all four seasons. As a Town we are very aware of our enviroment and natural resources. We try to preserve and protect our resources and learn how to conserve all that we have.
We have a solid waste and recycling collection site at the Community Center, 1440N County Road C. The site is open on Saturday from 9:00 am-Noon.
The Town Board meets the second Monday of each month starting at 7:00 pm. See the calendar for all meeting dates of the Board or any other properly held town meetings.
The Town of Meteor does not have a driveway permit. If it is not at the top of the hill, a culvert will be needed. Contact Chairman Dale Olson or Road Boss Rocke Baker for culvert sizing
We are under County Zoning. Contact Sawyer County for all building permits and zone changes.
